it is normal to some extent, but, if you are on any medications that will lower your HR or BP (like beta blockers), then your heart might be working a little too hard. it wouldn’t be a bad idea to call your doctor tomorrow and ask. you don’t want to mess around with CHF and high BP.

having a fever could increase your pulse rate but there are some diseases that causes your pulse rate to increase and vice versa. from what you have said that you have a history of CHF and hypertension, i think that you should consult your doctor.

Dear Asker!

Heart rate rises an average of 6-7 beats/min for every
degree of fever. Stress causes release of adrenalin in the body, which causes increase of heart rate and breath rate!

Congestive heart failure, hyperthyroidism may cause tachycardia (elevated heart rate) too!
If you are under beta blockers , never stop these drugs abruptly, that can cause the rebound phenomenon leading to severe tachycardia, uncontrolled high blood pressure, aggravation of myocardial infarction and death!

Hope that may help you!
Good luck!

If you are sick with a fever and have CHF ( It never goes away once you have it) you need to go get the sickness treated. Be very careful.
