Went to take ibprofen out of my fathers medicine cabinet and accidently took a different pill?
ByQuestion: i accidently took two of them they were white round and said 54 142 on one side. what did i take? i took it like 20 mins ago…i dont want to call a doctor if i dont have to…but i think im starting to feel a little funny? any help here would be appreciated
i would ask him but i wasnt really supposed to be in his cabinet i just had a wicked headache and for whatever reason there were no labels on the bottles which is why i got mixed up in the first place

If you google for pill id you should find a site that can help you id the pill.
However, lets make this a lesson for the future. Pills are usually only in unlabled bottles when there is a purpose. You should NEVER take a pill out of an unlabled container unless you are the one that put it there. It is almost always going to be a narcotic, and more than likely the person does not have it by legit rx or it has been tampered with. I know some people will keep tylonal in old rx bottles, but still, dont take it unless you put it there. Even if you can identify the pill by looks, you dont know if it has been tampored with or not.
I went ahead and looked out of curisosity. You just took a narcotic opiod pain killer.

54 142 is coding for a methadone pill. It cam be used for chronic pain, or is also used as an anti-addictive for opium-derived drugs. It’s side effects can include nausea, insomnia, headache, as well as some more serious effects. Don’t go and try to take a REAL ibuprofen, because it’s REALLY dangerous to mix methadone with other medicines. I’d wait it out, but if you really start to feel badly, talk to your father and then call a doctor.

if you’re completely naive to opiates there’s a good chance you’ll get knocked out into a blissful sleep. otherwise, enjoy your impromptu narcotic buzz. and tell your father to keep his meds out of your reach
