Ways to promote Kidney health?
By
Question: I’m looking for ways to promote kidney health. My kidney levels are high due to a high protein diet. I lift weights, so it’s difficult to actually change that. Are there any supplements that I could possibly take to promote kidney health and possibly lower my kidney levels? Or am I pretty much stuck with requiring I lower my protein intake?

I’m afraid that protein metabolism creates urea, which the kidneys have to get rid of. There is no way of really bypassing that. You’ll probably be best cutting down on the protein. Chances are your kidneys will have to deal with whatever supplements you try to take on top of that as well, so you would kind of be compounding the problem.

Lowering your protein intake slightly won’t hurt you. I suggest trying a cranberry supplement & drinking PLENTY of water..
