Should I be wasting my beautiful mind worrying about Barbara Bush’s health condition?
By EditorQuestion:
As you may have heard, Barbara Bush was recently admitted to the hospital due to an ulcer, and recently was released after the surgery.
Remember when Barbara Bush was asked about the deaths of U.S. troops in Iraq? Here’s what she said:
“Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?”
For confirmation that she did indeed say this: http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/barbara.asp
Now… I just want to know if I should be wasting my beautiful mind on Barbara Bush’s health condition? I mean, if her illness got more severe or she died — should I be concerned?
Lakk: I do remember her stating that. Barbara Bush is the epitome of an elitist. She thinks Katrina victims living in a sports arena is “good enough” and that they should be satisfied since in her opinion, they weren’t living well off in the first place.

That’s a very good point.
She seems very conceited, so I don’t see why anyone should be concerned about her.

Remember when she said THIS, following Katrina?
“What I’m hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena [Astrodome] here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle) – this is working very well for them.”

Well, she actually had a perforated ulcer, a very serious and life threatening problem, especially with her age. She is still hospitalized, I thought.
If you want to put yourself on her level, you live in a free country. But I like to think I can act better than any of the Bushes.

No, I say wasting my mind is best left for TV, not worrying about the health of republicans.

You have apparently spent this much time worrying it so continue if you please, don’t if you want.
However you did fail to quote her quote accurately and also failed to note this was before the war and before anyone knew how deadly it was going to be
The quote in its entirety:
“I watch none. He (former prez Bush) sits and listens and I read books, because I knew perfectly well that, don’t take offense, that 90% of what I hear on television is supposition, when we’re talking about the news. And he’s not, not as understanding of my pettiness about that. But why should we hear about body bags, and death, and how many, what day it’s gonna happen, and how many this or that or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it’s, it’s not relevant. So, why should I waste my beautiful ming on something like that? And watch him suffer.
Essentially what she is saying is that why speculate on body bag numbers and such before war is even declared.
I will give you an A+ on your spin of it!!
