Seizure medicine side effects are there psychological?

Question: I want to know if a lot of epilepsy medicine can effect your personality? 15 pills daily Limictal and neurontin! This is serious! thank You!
She is a sister in law! All i know is that it is complex partial seizures. Can it be effecting her emotions! Please tell me! Thank you!
All of you are wonderful! She has taken these meds for years approx.10. Reason is scar on the brain pin head size. Has no nerve stimulator. Has tested many drugs,considered surgery. These meds & dosage control her seizures. She is very emotional and very sensitive. Thank you! Lori your very SPECIAL!!

15 Lamictal and Neurontin … that’s a lot! But you probably need it to control your seizures. Lamictal can cloud your mentation to some extent (not sure about the gabapentin). It’s a balance — do you know what kind of epilepsy you have? Do you have MTS? Is it amenable to a vagal nerve stimulator? There are options other than medication alone.

It’s usually not difficult to tell whether a new med. has caused emotional or behavioral changes. If her dose of Lamictal has recently been increased, and her behavior has changed then chances are, the behavioral changes are attributable to the new med. / increased dose.

the Lamictal will. it screwed my son’s up bad. had to tak him off of it.

dizziness,
