Right, but why would we put it into space? Since that’s not just a “couple billion” that’s more like trillions, for something which may or may not even work.

Furthermore, why not solar thermal instead? A lot simpler technology, and it runs 24/7 as well.

Obama has told everyone that solar and wind power will only account for a fraction of Americas energy needs. Considering the USA spends more on their military than the entire world combined it just makes sense that they are ahead of any other military, so blasting a few billion into a renewable energy source is basically a no brainer. In space the energy collection would go unhindered for ever collect solar power from the sun without dealing with cloud cover or rotation of earth.

maybe they can come up with a way to catch every bodys farts and use it as a renewable fuel for electric plants

7

AH how will they get the energy back from space?

8

maybe instead of sinking billions per year into the American military the government should build a multiple huge solar panels and bring them into space where they could collect energy without disruption! If that is possible and given our technological advances, I dont see any reason why we couldnt figure that idea out!

Your statement is an oxymoron, government institution that uses no tax money, now thats funny. You missed your calling as a stand up commedian!

I have much more experience with the health care system than most. My wife survived stage four ovarian cancer, she was given a 1 in 5 chance of making it a year. She was only 27 at the time, her cancer was practicly unheard of in a woman of her age. She was given the proper test and treatments to save her life! What will happen when some politican is doing cost analysis, and denies people treatment, because it is not cost effective? Remeber all of us have some sort of terminal illness, its life!

Well, if the federal government creates an institution which uses no tax dollars, and functions just the same way any private institution would.

How would that not be increasing competition?

Or more to the point, what’s funny is that Republicans and HMO’s only argument against this so far is that it would be too effective.

And completely destroy any private competition.

Truly I tell you this one truth.
This man does want to change America.

As for healthcare, what’s being proposed is basically to INCREASE competition, by forming a semi-private corporation, with congressional oversight and regulations.

The exact opposite of monopoly/cartel style economics.
