By Editor

Description: Submitted by Dr. Erin T. Bird, MD, Assistant Professor of Surgery/Urology, and Dr. Parvis Kavoussi, Resident, Scott & White Memorial Hospital. DON’T DO IT!! After 14 years I have developed cronic epididymitis (your balls hurt all the time). Tell your wife to take the pill and use a condom. If I could turn back time I would not go through it again.

I heard all the horror stories going ….Let me tell you none of them were true Ihad the op and felt nothing at all ..I must admit i had some discomfort for the fist day thats all but it was almost nothing ..
if you ask the nurse when you first go to speak to them they will issue you some cream to rub on you bits two hours before the op …20 mins later your on your way home … ,,no more kids
remember she went through child birth its the least you can do

From this video the socalled NO scalpel seems to me more an euphemism than real.
When a small window in scrotal skin is needed to access the Vas , isn’t a sharp cut by a scalpel better than teasing the scrotal skin with pointed haemostat, which can be more traumatising?
Will someone answer me?

Besides feeling a tug, it is not a big deal. Just take care of the small hole which heals in no time.
I was suppose to have the no needle Vas but unfortunately, it malfunctioned! Needle stung for a sec. Not a big deal.

6

any side effects, some ppl have said that i could have sexual problems afterward….is this true?

My husband is getting this procedure done in 2 days. Guys..I know it looks scary and painful..but as a wife who has gone through 3 very difficult pregnancies and had bad experiences with hormonal birth control..I’m very proud of him for volunteering.

I’ve had 3rd degree tears during childbirth that were stitched with very little numbing medication and believe me, I felt every stitch. This is a walk in the park. It takes a considerate man to do this for his wife. My opinion of course.

not i i felt the pinch when it went in then nothing. i did what i was supposed to for 3 days and i was fine still no pain now this was 9/16/08. yeah discomfort for them 3 days but gradualy went away. and i can get it up better than i did before

9

good technique.i have performed 93 such procedures.Problems are with reversals especially requested after many years of vasectomy, chances decreases with time.

10

dont feel guilty, it’s much worst on you girls. but thanks for beeing considerate.

11

have you had a vasectomy and would you doi again. cause i dont

12

It’s not so bad. just take it eazy for a few days. No alchohol or sex for at least 48 hours. Get it done.

13

dont worry there isnt any pain at all. little bit of tightness and discomfort just keep it supported for 3 days straight.

14

why its either you or him. for you its very damn painfull and i dont care what the dude or his manly friends say it does not hurt.

15

16

I seriously considering getting this done in the future. I’m 21 but I don’t want kids. Kids change too much of life. I want to be able to have a life with my future wife (when I meet her that is), in which we don’t have to worry about going on vacation or doing fun things, because we have kids at home to come back to.

I’m sure the pain has cleared up for you by now gigjohn, right?

18

i had it done around 12 yrs ago boy it hurts …..i would never want it reversed…happy with my 2 children thanks.

19

noooooo im sure it hurts heaps

20

Wow. I always wondered what it looked like. Eeeeeek!

21

Those clips on the almost final procedure…. what are they made of???

I had it done 12 years ago, and I haven’t regretted it since. The worst part was the numbing of the vas, it felt a little like getting punched in the gut. Afterward, the tenders were a bit tender for about a week. The best part was getting to spend the weekend just sitting on the couch. Still, compared with what my wife went through to give birth twice, this was nothing! My wife was in the room at the time, and she told me she’d never have me do it again, but I’m not the least bit sorry!

that hurts so bad to watch…had it done a while ago and its not very painful

24

i would think a man should go with it as women labour and men need to do this for their wives to show them they can be men

I’m considering getting this in the future. I’m 21. No I’m not in a relationship. I just can’t picture myself being a parent. Alot of my friends tell me that I’ll change my mind when I have one of my own, but that’s just it, I don’t want children!

I plan to be a lawyer. I want to focus on my career to maybe even one day be in charge of my own law firm in NYC. I’m very ambitions and will not stop for anything until I reach my career goals.
