There are several parts to Medicare. What you pay in FICA taxes is for Medicare Part A. It pays for 80% of your hospital stay. You pay the rest out of pocketTo be covered for doctors visits and surgical costs, at age 65 you pay premiums for Medicare Part B. It pays up to 80% of those costs.Medicaid Part C is an HMO for those who feel this fits their needs. What about the tax money you pay is going into the pockets of wealthy and greedy?Tax is good until it is abused and manipulated for the benefit of rich people. Like, wealthy seniors who are on medicare and illegals or lazy asses on medicaid.
