medical programs?
By
Question: I’m a 21 year old single female. I live in California. I’m not pregnate, nor do I have any children and I am not disabled. I have a part time job and im going to college. I’ve been trying to find programs to help pay for medical needs. I barely have enough money for basic needs let alone health insurance. Is there anything I can do? I haven’t seen a doctor in 10 years. It seems like most programs are only for children, women who pop out babies, or the disabled. What about the rest of us?

You may want to give your local county health department a call. Most have something in the line of a preventive care clinic where you can get free check ups (pap smears, mammograms, etc), and also birth control if you desire. It is a “well” clinic. Also you may want to call your local United Way to see if any church or other nonprofit organization is there for you in the event that you get sick, and need to go to the doctor. Sometimes they run their own clinics with a doctor who can see you in the event that you get sick. They fill their own prescriptions right there, or have connections with the pharmacy so you don’t have to shell out a dime. Blessings in the pursuit of your career. Hope this helps!

Most colleges have a student health clinic where you can get free medical care so check out your campus.
