If you want a detailed description of the procedure, including swabs, tools etc…this site describes a right hemi-colectomy (removal of the colon from ileus to transverse colon).

Tools for removal of other parts of the colon would be similar.
HOwever this is for open surgery. Colorectal cancer surgery is now sometimes done laparoscopically. In that case the tools are: scalpel for incision, laproscope + its tools (viewer, cutter, hemolyser, clamp)
