I popped pain pills during the first few weeks i was pregnant, what are the risk?

Question: I am now 26 weeks pregnant. But the first five weeks i was pregnant i popped some pain pills with a friend of mine..not knowing i was pregnant. Im terrified that my baby girl will have birth problems. What are the risk of this? i really need some details, im trying my best not to stress or worry about this(for my baby). I am doing everything in my will to stay as healthy as possible. Please anyone, i would really appreciate the help.

wen you say pain pills do you mean like panadol? or something a little bit more illegal?

well my friend did a line of coke and found out she was 6wks pregnant the next day and her baby came out fine and coke is alot worst than a few pain pills

there wont be anything wrong because no one realizes they are pregnant right away and so many people do drugs or drink alcohol before they realize and their babies end up fine!

I wouldn’t worry about it. Plenty of women drink, smoke, do drugs, go on rollercoasters, etc. before they discover they’re pregnant, and their babies are fine. As long as you’ve stopped (and you stopped early) then it’s fine. However, if you want total reassurance, just mention it to your doctor next time you see them, to put your mind at ease.
Also keep in mind that technically when you were 5 weeks pregnant, the embryo was only three weeks old. Very young, wouldn’t be very affected.

Without knowing what you popped, we can’t really say for sure what might happen. I do hope that at your intake that you mentioned this to your doctor. They aren’t going to turn you in, but they do need to know so they can know what to watch for. Also, I would think that when you had your 20+ week ultrasound you would have been told if there was a forseeable problem.

nothing you can do now, no its not a good idea to take pain medication when you are pregnant, but lots of people have done things in the beggining before they knew they were pregnant and have had healthy babies. good for you for keeping yourself healthy since then, keep it up and im sure you will be fine.

i snorted oxycodones and smoked weed and drank the first month of pregnancy but did not know i was pregnant.
very early on, not a whole lot of big stuff is taking place. i cried to my ob/gyn about it on my first appointment, and she assured me that as long as i stopped, my baby would be healthy.
sure enough…she was right. just stay clean and relax.

what kind of pills aspirin, motrin any ibuprofen is not advised. Tylenol is okay
