I had an appendix surgery. After how many days is it okay to take off my bandages?

Question: I had an appendix surgery. After how many days is it okay to take off my bandages?
It has been a week since I had my vermiform appendix removed through surgery. So, would it be okay to remove it now or may I catch some infection?

I think you should ask your doctor/physician before you do it because some virus/bacteria can get inside and cause serious problems.

ask your doctor

Talk to your doctor before you remove anything. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

the wound dressing should remain in place as long as it is clean, until your doctor removes it on your first post operative visit with him. Taking the bandage off exposes your operative site to bacteria and the risk of infection, it also slows healing. If the dressing becomes soiled before you see the doctor, replace it with another sterile dressing, do not leave the surgical site exposed until your doctor tells you it is ok to do so.

idk i’d say whenever ur doctor says so, or whenever ur off bed rest (i have never had that kinda surgery,so idk)

When I have my appendix removed, I had to follow up with the doctor a week later. I would suggest you do that also.
