Of all the plastic surgery options, rhinoplasty is one of the least invasive. There is minimal cutting, and the recovery time is relatively short for a surgery. After you have the surgery done, you need to let the nose heal. That means not jostling or exercising to disrupt the healing process. If you loosen the stitches, you could get an infection or some kind of blood infection. You need to set out a lot of time to rest afterward, so that you can recover faster.

Preparatory steps for rhinoplasty will come from your surgeon. Generally, these recommended steps include guidelines regarding your diet, what you drink, smoking, the ingestion of vitamins, sleep and even washing your face. In order to minimize the recovery time needed from this procedure, you need to be sure to follow these guidelines exactly, as they will only speed up the process of your return to your normal routine.
Specifically, you’ll feel sore after surgery. Your face will be swollen, and you may experience a dull headache. However, your pain and discomfort can easily be managed with medications. Your face will continue to swell for a few days after the procedure is complete, and you’ll notice some level of discomfort during that time. However, this is completely normal, and all a part of the healing process.
The process of returning to your normal activities occurs in stages. In terms of just getting back on your feet, that should occur within a couple of days, and you should be able to return to school or work within a week. However, other activities need to stop for a few weeks, including anything that’s physically strenuous in nature. Your face needs time to heal, and avoiding stress to the affected area is critical to your overall recovery.

You can expect to be bruised and swollen for a period of at least one week. You will likely have a splint (cast) on top of your nose for a week as well. You must limit your activity for a period of one month, and avoid any contact sports or any activities that may harm your nose.
If you wear glasses, you may have to adjust how you wear them to avoid damaging the bridge of your nose while its healing. You may have difficulty breathing through your nose during the first week if the Doctor used packing inside your nostrils.

Side effects of Rhinoplasty include temporary swelling, bruising, some pain, and mild postoperative bleeding from the nose. Risks are pain, bleeding, infection, incomplete improvement, breathing problems
Recovery:
Back to work with makeup: 1 – 2 weeks; More strenuous activity: 2 – 3 weeks
Final Appearance: 6 months to 1 year for swelling to completely resolve
Hope this helps!
