I am looking to buy halloween contacts without a prescription…?

By Editor

Question: Okay so heres the story:
I’m 15 and I wore glasses all my life until 7th grade when my mom allowed me to get contacts.I worn them for like 3 weeks but I (as a 12 yr old)got lazy and stopped useing them and pretended like I was wearing them. When my mom found out, I told her I didnt really need any kind of prescription eye care because at that point my eyes were able to see fine without.Well now it’s 3 years later and I want to buy halloween contacts. But most sites require a prescriptio which dosnt exist since it has been over a year and the eye people cant give me that prescription (I need for eye diameter ect.). Getting another prescription is $100+.That is ALOT.

Is there any links that you may know of that I can buy NON-PRESCRIPTION halloween contact lenses that dosent charge me a boat load?(By non prescribtion I mean they dont need optomitrist information ei.phone #’s)

PLEASE help!

no. All contacts are prescription, even those for cosmetic use and not for vision correction.

http://www.vampfangs.com is one place that I know of. There are always add’s in the back of gothic/metal magazines for costume gear; you might even get lucky at hot topic, but its doubtfull they would carry contacts.

in the U.S….you cant. its illegal. if you buy them somewhere…then you are breaking the law and so is the seller. stiff penalties to boot (not to mention dangerous for your vision!)

Contact lenses are a medical device regulated by the FDA, to obtain them legally you need to have a prescription, whether they have correction or not! You cannot take this lightly your eyes are very important and you need to take care of them! If contact lenses are not fit by a qualified professional there is a risk of harming your eyes. I know it seems a lot to pay $100 to get a prescription….but that is the price you have to pay for the “luxury” of wearing contact lenses. Anyways hun just just make an appointment with your eye doctor… let them know you are interested in special patterned lenses!

I wish I could, but you definately need to get an updated contact lens exam. Think about it like this, you can seriously harm your eyes by playing around with them. You only have 2. If something serious were to happen to your eyes don’t you think you would be thinking “I should’ve just spent the $100.00 for a new eye exam” ? Something to see about……

I don’t know your country of residence, but if it is the U.S. you’re asking for advice to do something illegal. Granted, there are some very big toll-free and internet suppliers who have illegally distributed lenses without a prescription, but that’s changing.
If you are very, very lucky, the Halloween lenses are the same design as your previous clear lenses and obtaining a prescription for them should be less time consuming and less expensive. You will, however, need to get a prescription to obtain your lenses legally. These lenses are NOT Halloween toys like fake fangs or Darth Vader masks. There are risks and you need to know if the limited number of specialty lenses available will put you at excessive risk for contact-lens related infections and inflammation. You need to be fit. Hollywood does it for the movies; you need to do it for October 31st.

I get SOOOOO tired of repeating myself…so here’s a link to someone who posted a similar question. When you’re typing up your question, doesn’t it bring up questions that have already been asked, an answered, that are similar in nature and have some of the same key words? People must have asked this 100 million times this month alone!!!

Anyway, please click on the link and scroll down to MRS SSG B and read what I (and others) have posted…
