How much would a vasectomy or tubal ligation surgery cost for a cat?
By
Question: Also, do all vets perform such procedures? If not, would anyone know of a place in the Los Angeles area that does?

Just get your get neutered, and try replacing the missing pieces with Neuticals, if you are worried about the way your cat looks afterward.
If you are against Neutering – just remember that an intact (but with tubes cut) will still fight, will still mate, will still spray, and still be susceptible to all the cat diseases that intact cats can get.

A spay or a neuter costs about $60. But a vasectomy or a tubal on a cat? I have never heard of this. I don’t think many vets will do this.
You know that a tubal is very different from spaying, and a vasectomy is very different from neutering?
Neutering is castration.
I have had a vasectomy, and trust me I still have my testicles, and still have very normal sex drive. If you give a male cat a vasectomy he is still going to have sex with female cats, fight, and mark his territory, etc. He just won’t get them pregnant.
My girlfriend has had a tubal, and still has her ovaries. If you give a female cat a tubal, she is still going to go into heat, cry for male cats, and so-forth. She just won’t get pregnant.

Depends on where you live really, but generally, if you are not on an kind of benefits from welfare, you might have to pay the entire cost. I would advise you to try ringing around the low cost spay neuter programs in your area through the RSPCA or SPCA.
In USA, I would imagine around $100
In the UK, around £40-£50

It would be a really weird thing to do to a cat. Most vets would refuse. A vasectomised cat will still act like an entire cat and will spray and fight and roam and mate any females he can. He will still have the risks of testicular cancer etc.
You should just go for a normal neutering.
The only legitimate reason to go for a vasectomy would be if you were a registered breeder who wanted a ‘teaser tom’ to bring females off call by mating them. Retired studs do this just as well after a normal neutering operation so that is a better option. And it is not a great idea anyway as it could encourage pyo.

Vets perform castration(males) and spaying (females) on cats, not vasectomy and tubal ligations!!

your probably better off getting it spayed(female) or neutered(male) a lot cheaper

Why would you want a vasectomy instead of neuter? As to tubals on cats, I am sure some do, but that leaves their overiers and they still go into heat, you want that each month? I would say do the neuter and a regular spay, is easy and best for the cats.
