How much weight do you lose after a tummy tuck surgery?

Question: I am about to get tummy tuck surgery to get rid of my extra skin as well as liposuctioning the sides (or flanks)…….does anyone know how much weight you lose post surgery? I was 240 at my biggest, and am now down to about 178 pounds with my extra skin….how much should i weigh after surgery?? I am 5′9 and 20 yrs old

A friend of mine just had a tummy tuck, They removed 12 pounds of skin and fat, that is all she lost. You will lose only as much as they take off of you.
There is no way I would be able to tell you how much you will weigh after your surgery, It will depend on how much your skin and fat that they remove weighs.

After the surgery was completed, my surgeon told me the total amount of pounds removed. You won’t know your actual weight loss until the drains are removed and the swelling has subsided – two or three weeks.
There are many conflicting opinions on weight loss charts. I use: 100 pounds for 5′ plus 5 pounds for each inch. Using this formula, your ideal weight is 145 pounds. You could also ask your doctor what he/she thinks is a healthy weight for you.
I was given this formula by a hospital staff member.
If you plan to lose more weight, you might want to delay the surgery to remove extra skin. With further weight loss, you may develop more extra skin and have to go through the same surgery.
