How much is Lasik eye surgery?
By
Question: I’m 16 and have 20/50 vision and have glasses, but they are a nuisance on account in some situation they aren’t completely available and I find them annoying and unattractive. I’ve tried contacts and they aren’t for me so don’t suggest that. I heard Lasik surgery is about 1000$ to do, but there is different kids of surgery or something and there is a chance that your eyes can become worse or something? Can someone please give me all the details and price of these surgeries?

Both my wife and I just had this type of surgery, it’s over before it starts and is pailess. They took cataracts our of both our eyes and made glasses for our bifocals because the lens implanted aren’t that good with bifocals so, you’ll still need glasses with bifocals if you want real good vision but, it’s still worth it.
The surgery was paid for ( 80%) by Medicare, and the rest about three three hundred was our bill. mine was about two due to me using my old glasses and they replaced the lens.
Total surgery was about 3 K apiece.

Where are you? I know someone who had it and now has better than 20/20. She is thrilled with it. It cost about $6000. There are slightly cheaper places but where she went is the best. In Australia once you get to a certain level (I don’t know whether 20/50 is bad enough) you do get some back from Medicare and your private insurance. The operation itself took only minutes. Measuring up beforehand took about an hour and she had to go back the day after the surgery and then again later a few weeks later. None of it caused her any problems. Unlike the previous respondent she did not have cataracts removed and does not need glasses for anything. She did lash out on some fashionable sunglasses though!
