How drugs and cough medicine effects a human’s health?

Question: My brother is taking cough medicine, I found many empty cough medicine bottles in his room.
What’s the feeling after taking cough medicine?
How danger is taking cough medicine and what kind of health problem he’ll face?
Possible to stop him from taking cough medicine and drugs?
I’m worry about him… He was an active man who did a lot of sports and got a lot of acheivement in hiking & jogging. He was a good climber. I don’t want him to be a drug taker.

Are you two close enough that you can talk to him about this? First off, I would take one of the cough syrup bottles and hide it, so later on they will know exactly what he’s been taking. He definitely need to confide in someone, be it a parent, minister, school counsellor, or someone else that you feel you can trust.
Please get help for your brother – the sooner the better. You really don’t know what else he’s “trying.”
