How Do I Remove Surgical Glue From My Cats Paw?
ByQuestion: My cat had is front claws taken out and the vet really put on the surgical glue on his right paw. So much that he’s gathered some cat litter and other debris on it. It’s been 10 days since he’s been in and I would like to see if there is anything that would dissolve this. My cat is walking fine but he’s clearly bothered by this chunk of debris on his paw.
Is there anything that will help break this up?
Thanks!

Your vet should have advised you not to use kitty litter after the declawing surgery. Shredded newspaper is usually suggested for a week or two after the operation. You should call your vet and tell him the problem. You may be able to bring your cat in for free so he can clean his paws off. This could cause an infection being that all of the dirty litter is getting stuck to his wounds.

You could try bathing it in lukewarm water to soften it up. Most of the debris would hopefully come off in the water. Once you’ve done that, you could probably peel it off then.

The cat will get rid of it on his own. My cats had the same stuff on their paws, and when a chunk of glue came of I would panic because I thought it was a piece of paw pad
But dont worry too much about it. It can take around two to three weeks for the glue to come completely off. If you get really worried, call a vet. They will know how to get the glue off if something needs done to get it off

I think it would be best if you consulted your vet. They will be very happy to help you on the phone and vets usually offer follow up appointments if needed at little or no cost.
good luck!

well ur best chance is to soak the paw in very warm water so that is can get melt-y so u can try to pull it off. or cut it off.
