How do I loose the ‘fat’ under my chin, without surgery?

By Editor

Question: I’m not obese. I don’t think I have a major weight problem.
I could stand to loose a few pounds, haha.
But the .. ‘fat’ under my chin, like, my neck..
it’s not major, you can’t really notice it unless i pull my head back a little.
How do I get rid of it, without surgery?
Thanks in advance! xx

you really cant target areas. especially something like under your chin. but if you lose say 5-10 pounds not saying you need to that might be just what you need to lose the excess ‘fat’ under your chin.
Good Luck

You can’t – it’s there for life, unless you become anorexic
I still have it and I’m actually very fit, if I do say so myself
Just don’t pull your head back and it’s fine – everyone else has it, it’s no big deal :)

But in order to actually answer your question.. you’d have to starve yourself :/
Good luck.. with the first one, not the second (I hope)

Not everyone carries fat in the same places. I tend to carry a little bit in my neck also. The only way that I have found to reduce the fat here is to eat right and exercise. It’s just like losing fat anywhere else on your body. Unfortunately spot reducing doesn’t work, you have to look at it in a whole body sense. I hope that helps.

For some reason people keep saying that you can’t target specific areas for fat loss. This is true if you don’t know HOW to target that specific area.

You cannot tell me that a cyclist cannot target thighs, or a swimmer their back and abs. Whichever muscle you work at a low intensity level draws energy (in this case, fat) from the closest available source. It starts with muscle glycogen/carbs then it moves to fat stores (within 15-20 minutes of low intensity activity).

If you swim freestyle, you are turning your neck to breathe in conjunction with moving jaw muscles. With proper form, that will exercise the area beneath your chin and burn fat but not too many people can swim for 20 minutes straight without practice.

Low intensity cardio work will also accelerate overal fat burning.

Going under the knife so that you can lose .01% of body fat for $2000 is insane.
