Has anyone here taking ‘Toprol-XL prescription medicine?Please read inside?

Question: Has anyone here taking ‘Toprol-XL prescription medicine?My mom was on this medince.She has medicare part B.til now drug was covered but they were giving generic version of this medicine.Now suddenly pharmacy says they stop manufacturing this medicine completly,therefore no medicine.Does anyone taking this medicine Toprol-xl or its generic Metoprolol then please can you tell me you are still able to find this medicine in your pharmacy?Thanks.

Toprol-XL was generally prescribed in conjunction with and to supplement Lipitor (a Statin that works thru the liver). They have found that this combination can cause serious complications, and have withdrawn the drug.

Yes, I take metropolol every day 50mg XL. This is the generic name for Toprol. It is a very common generic med. and any pharmacy should have it. You can look online at CVS, Walgreens etc. I get mine at my mail order pharm Medco but I can also get it at Rite Aid locally.

Medications are covered by Medicare Part D.
There’s a shortage of Metoprolol XL. No one has it currently. She’ll have to switch to brand or to regular metoprolol.
