I was taking Depakote for my BPD but I really didn’t feel any difference while taking it. I was taking 250mg twice daily… then they wanted me to take an extra because it wasn’t working. So I started noticing extra hair loss on my head and rapid hair growth on my eyebrows, pits and legs :/ then my levels came in and they were very high so i’m not taking that shit anymore. ..And I gained like 4pouds
Oh! and you will trip balls if you smoke weed on depakote!

drug and after explaining to them what happened, they advised me to NOT give my son any more depakote that even at a lower dose can produce the same after effects, and their concern was that with the vomiting, he could very well bring up the Keppra too which is the drug that has controlled the seizures. Oh, and when I did ask the doctor what were the side effects of this drug before my son started taking it, he said ONLY A LITTLE FATIGUE! Please people, do NOT take this drug!

4 and a half days out of the six, he kept throwing up. HIs eyes were red, he had memory problems, he was unsteady on his feet and I called the doctor after I made the desicion that my son was not taking no more of that garbage. Doc told me to tell him to stop taking the depakote. The vomiting stopped immediately. Then the doc called me and said he was putting my son right back on on a lower dose. I said no way, my son said he is not taking it, period. I called the company who manufactures the

since then, but we switched doctors because the one we had refused to give him an EEG. The new doc set him up for tests and then put him on Depakote 500 mg three times a day in addition to the 3000g of Keppra. We tried to tell him that the only reason my son was having so many seizures was because he was in denial and did not take the Keppra as perscribed but now is doing so as well as not drinking, doing drugs and because careful when working out. My son was on the Depakote for 6 days, and

My son was diagnosed with a siezure disorder which they now say is epilepsy. He was at NAPS when he had his first grandmal siezure. The Navy doc proscribed Keppra, and between that time and he coming home (he cannot serve in the Military with siezures), another doc uped the dosage from 500g to 3000g because he was having a lot of seizures. Recently, his seizures deminished to the place of only having had one in a span of 2 and a half months which was on July 6 of this year. He has not had one

Tell that to the subject of the following case study:
Epilepsia. 1999 Apr;40(4). Male infertility: possible association with valproate exposure.
Man on valproate monotherapy failed to have kids after 4 years unprotected, then 4 months after cessation of valproate, “A seminal analysis revealed a sperm count of > 16 million, 50% motility, 78% viability, and 72% with abnormal structure.”
72% abnormal structure…pseudoscience. Believe what you will, but this is truth you should be ready for.

Now, if you are hearing and seeing stuff that isn’t there, just take the meds given. If you think people are out to get you, keep taking them.

Anti depressants(Prozac, Celexa ,Effexor), mood stabilizers(Lithium, Depakote) and Anti-psychotics( Geodon, Haldol) effect your majorly. If you just have anxiety just take benzodiazepines for short period of time. Those highly marketed drugs are just as bad as controlled substances. I actually got withdrawals from Depakote and Geodon.

Don’t take it if you don’t think you need it. Dr.s are quick to write out scripts for stuff that people don’t even need. …. If it makes you feel better, take it. Make sure you get your blood tested regularly.

Depakote caused me to gain 50 lbs in less than six months. I later found out that I wasn’t even Bi Polar. The Dr. was Just trying to push an expensive medicine because of the kickbacks he would get.

Don’t take it. I gained 50 lbs in 6 months. Doctors have lobbyist kind of like the governments lobbyist. They get kickbacks for pushing medications . You most likely don’t even need it. The Doctor gets paid to sell it.
