Are prescription accepted anywhere else that its not issed in?

Question: I recieved a prescription for eye glasses from another clinic but i found out that my insurance covers for eye care. But the problem is if i scheduel an appointment with them, it will be another 4 weeks before they can check my eyes. Could I just give them my prescription?
