Are Eye Contacts Safe and Easy to take care of?
By
Question: I am a young girl who doesn’t have very good eye vision. I do not want glasses, whatsoever. Even if they improve my eye vision, I just don’t want them. I am thinking of asking for eye contacts. Here are some questions I would like to have answered:
-Are eye contacts easy to take care of?
-How do you take out eye contacts?
-Are they safe? Can they blind you?
-Do they hurt in any way?
-Does it hurt when there are hair in front of your eyes?
You don’t need to answer all of them, I’d just like a brief explanation and some tips on what its like living with eye contacts. That would be great if you could answer some.
Thanks!

Contacts are safe if you use them and wear them properly. You put them in, wear them no longer tahn 14 hours and take them out to sit in solution overnight, every night. Between 2 and 4 weeks, you throw them out and put in a new pair. Certain brands are more comfortable than others. Newer styles are safer than others. Our doctor has seen good results from the Acuvue Oasys brand. A lot of people say they are very comfortable, too. Putting them in is straight forward. taking them out is a matter of sliding the contact gently to the corner of your eye, and plucking it out. It’s not as hard as it would seem. Your eye doctor should have you taught to do it. If not, try a different doctor.
