Are Americans Seeking Refuge In Canada Because Of How Corrupt The Usa Health Care System Is?

By Editor

Question: Do you think it’s SAD to see people with aids, cancer, tumors get denied health care?
Why does UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE work in the UK? Why doesn’t it get implemented in the USA?

Legally, NO ONE can be denied healthcare in the US. Not sure where you guys keep getting this idea.
They are working to get universal healthcare here currently. It may be a few years before it actually gets off the ground and implemented.
The reason some people are against the idea of a system like the NHS, like you guys have, is because Canada has the same system as you, yet they come here all the time to get decent healthcare, and so they don’t have to wait to be seen/treated. It makes many Americans think that it would be better to pay more to have good healthcare, versus being taxed for a national program that is sub-par.
I’m for the idea of a nationalized healthcare plan, but I’d still like to hear more about the details before it gets my vote. It sounds like a great idea, and it would help many people, but I’d hate to implement it if it didn’t work to begin with.

Please cite how the healthcare system is corrupt. And do explain how Big Brother government, which is corrupt as hell, would correct anything about our so-called corrupt system. Tell me how another federal bureaucracy will solve anything. Have you noticed all the government waste? Do you live under a rock?
If you want to save the uninsured AIDS, cancer, and tumor paitents dying on the hospital steps, then give money to charity. There are lots of charities out there right now for every illness you mentioned.
Ask your grandmother how great medicaid and medicare are. The same government runs those programs.

It’s true that the current U.S. Health Care system is failing. And our system is based on insurance companies increasing cost while decreasing medical coverage.
The hospitals are forced to turn away the poor and uninsured because of raising costs that the insurance companies and government are not willing to pay for. This is also causing hospitals to close down or cut costs.
And for people that have medical insurance they are denied certain treatments and medications.
If the U.S. implements Universal Health Care the insurance companies will be cut off causing the costs of medical care to decrease. However, I do think that everyone should contribute a fare share in paying for it in taxes.
And for anyone thinking that Universal Health Care is Socialism you are sadly mistaken. Look at the government services will already pay for: Law Enforcement, Military, Fire Fighters, Social Services, Public Transportation, Postal Service and other government agencies.

i think you have things backwards. i live close to the canadian border. the canadians come to the USA(can you imagine that) to get health care. i have been told bu numerous canadians that universal health care sucks and alot of people die waiting for care, thats why they come across the border for health care. they told us do not ever vote for universal health care. you really need to get both sides of the story. also the NEW plan by our “president” will decide who to treat and who not to treat. in other words if you have a chronic condition ie aids, cancer or if you are elderly they are going to let you die . or perhaps give you the least amount of health care they can… Hey they need to have $$ for the welfare recipients..we have to keep them healthy geezus they work so hard…

No. People with those incurable or serious diseases get healthcare through the state pool. It’s a cheap insurance offered by the states where a serious illness is a prerequisite for acceptance. Every state has it. No one goes to Canada for healthcare. Canadians come here since we have more MRI’s in one city then Canada has in the whole country. Americans go to Canada if they’re liberal arts majors.

So why do many Canadians come to America for decent health care?
