Appendicitis Surgery?

Question: Ok I had appendicitis surgery about 3-4 months ago and it feels like the same spot that the appendix was taken out is achin quite a bit along with other organs it seems. Kinda scares the crap outta me that I didnt feel the appendix infection til the third week (a week after it had ruptured) and now the aches are annoyin mostly in the morning. Because I cant feel most of the excrutiating pain which is what they said I kinda just have to be lucky to find out if my entire body is infected or wait a while til the infection really starts to become fatal which is when ill probably feel it. Really dont wanna have to go through that again. Anyone know much about aches a few months after appendicitis surgery? Would help. Thanks.

i got appendicitis over 2 yrs ago and went through a hard time, was in the hospital for 2 weeks and in intensive care for 2 days, i was lucky aswell, if the infection hadnt died down they would have had to remove part of my intestine, and that would have left a large scar down my front, when i left the hospital i could only walk slowly and bent over because of the pain and for about 3 weeks still had an infection in my scar, had to disinfect it every day, i couldn’t run until about 2 months after leaving the hospital, and the pains didn’t die down for a few weeks after leaving, i still get pains sometimes but only in the scar, by the sounds of it u either haven’t healed properly or still have an infection(most likely) i would advise You with great urge to see your doctor about it and get tests done to find out more…best of wishes and hope you improve soon

You can determine if infection set in by taking your temperature. I too had a lot of pain and cramping long after my surgery, however, trying to second guess the problem wasn’t making it any better so I went to the doctor. I had no infection but a lot of thick scar tissue inside my belly. The doctor told me that a 3 month full recovery was expected. That was only my experience. I would encourage you to get a follow up doctor appointment, especially if you suspect an infection.
