Can you teach doctors the proper bedside manner? Harvard Medical School has a course that is devoted to training future doctors to be more compassionate by listening to uniquely qualified teachers: patients living with life-threatening illnesses. Students enrolled in the course called “Living With a Life-Threatening Illness,” are paired up with a patient facing one, in order to teach students about the illness from the patient’s perspective.
