20/20 Vision and I need Glasses?

Question: Eye doctor questions?
Ok I have two questions,.

My first question: Can someone explain why I am getting glasses but I have 20/20 vision? They Eye doctor said something about the way my eyes focus and something about up close vision, I was confused.

My Second question: When will I receive my glasses? I went yesterday (12/18/07) and I had a prescription and I picked out my glasses, and they said they will come in about a week. Do you think they meant a week at the latest or withing a week…or what?
